The ARRI L7-C is a color-tunable LED Fresnel designed for professional film, television, and broadcast production. It is part of ARRI’s L-Series and combines the familiar behavior of a traditional Fresnel with modern LED efficiency and color control.

Fixture Overview

The L7-C is a Fresnel-style LED fixture that uses ARRI’s optical system to produce a clean, controllable beam with smooth spot-to-flood adjustment. Unlike soft lights such as SkyPanels, the L7-C behaves like a classic tungsten Fresnel while offering tunable color temperature and LED efficiency.

It is designed to replace 1K–2K tungsten Fresnels in many studio and broadcast workflows.

Key Characteristics

LED Fresnel with true spot-to-flood control
Tunable color temperature (CCT)
Clean, even beam with minimal artifacts
Lower power draw and heat than tungsten
Designed for studio and broadcast use

The L7-C focuses on beam quality and predictability rather than special effects or portability.

Light Quality and Output

The L7-C produces a crisp, well-defined beam with smooth edge transition, similar to classic ARRI tungsten Fresnels. The Fresnel lens allows precise control over beam angle, making it suitable for shaping light with barn doors, flags, and cutters.

Output is sufficient for use as a key or backlight in studio environments, especially when compared to traditional tungsten units with similar form factor.

Color and Control

The ARRI L7-C features tunable white output, allowing adjustment across a wide color-temperature range while maintaining stable color performance.

Control options include:
Onboard controls
DMX control for studio systems

The fixture is designed for predictable, repeatable operation rather than app-based or wireless ecosystems.

Mounting and Rigging

The L7-C features a robust yoke and standard mounting options for stands, studio grids, and permanent installations. It is built for overhead use and long-term deployment in controlled environments.

Because of its size and design, it is not intended for lightweight or fast run-and-gun setups.

Crew Reception

The L7-C has become a disliked fixture in the industry. Today, it is often used as a last resort or a worklight.
