Make a lighting diagram

Start with a blank diagram or load a template. On a phone, open Setup name & templates to find these controls; Files & exports contains saving and downloads. Tap a symbol to add it, or drag it from the library onto the canvas. Select a light to choose its model from the FVL catalog or enter a custom name. Use Full screen for more space while you draw. Add a distance marker and type your measured distance as its label.

Select an object to adjust its size. Use Symbol size for lights, cameras, talent, and notes, or the length, width, and depth controls where shown. Labels keep the same text size. Reset size restores the selected object to its default dimensions.

To move a rig together, choose Select multiple, pick its symbols, then choose Group. Select a group member and choose Ungroup to move the symbols separately again.

Choose Draw walls and click each room corner. Finish walls leaves the outline open; Close room connects the last corner to the first. Walls are grouped so you can move the outline together. Hold Shift while placing a corner to draw horizontally or vertically, or turn on Snap to follow the grid.

Drag a label to reposition it without moving its object. Open Label appearance to change its text size, hide it, or reset its position. For talent or a camera, enable Show positions 1 → 2, then drag the faded symbol or choose Place end point. Use End rotation to set the final facing direction. Try the Room & blocking template for an example.

Open Floor plan & scale to add a JPEG or PNG plan. PDF, SVG, and WebP imports are not supported. The image fits beneath the symbols and stays fixed. Choose Set scale, mark two points, then enter the actual distance between them in feet or metres. Choose Measure distance and pick two points to add a measured line. Use a top-down plan for accurate distances.

Use + Setup to add another diagram to the project, or Duplicate setup to try a variation. Each setup keeps its own floor plan, scale, symbols and notes. Enter a project name, scene and shoot date to include them on the PDF. Download PDF exports the current setup or every setup on landscape Letter or A4 pages, with optional fixture lists and crew notes. JPEG and PNG export the current setup. Save project file keeps all setups editable; Open project also accepts older single-diagram files. Browser saving is local to this device. Keep a downloaded project file as your backup or send it to someone else to edit. If another tab saves a newer project, this tab pauses browser saving so it cannot overwrite that work. Download this copy keeps your version; Load saved project opens the newer browser save. A previous browser save is kept for recovery when storage is available.
