The Aputure MC Pro is a compact, full-color LED pocket light designed for professional film, television, and commercial production. It is an evolution of the original Aputure MC, built to be tougher, brighter, and more suitable for real on-set abuse.
The MC Pro is commonly used for practical lighting, accent lighting, eye lights, and hidden sources where size, speed, and color control matter more than raw output.
Fixture Overview
The MC Pro is a small, self-contained RGBWW LED fixture with an internal battery and onboard controls. Unlike consumer-oriented pocket lights, the MC Pro is built with a rugged housing and professional control options intended for daily production use.
It is designed to live in a gaffer’s pocket, pouch, or kit and be deployed instantly without stands, cables, or external power.

Key Characteristics
Ultra-compact RGBWW LED light
Full-color and tunable white output
Internal rechargeable battery
Ruggedized, professional build
Designed for rapid, on-set problem solving
The MC Pro is a utility light first, not a primary fixture.
Color and Control
The MC Pro uses an RGBWW LED engine, allowing it to produce accurate white light as well as saturated colors.
Control options include:
Onboard controls
Wireless control via Aputure Sidus Link
DMX control via compatible adapters
This makes it usable both as a standalone utility light and as part of a larger, coordinated lighting setup.
Light Quality and Output
The MC Pro produces a small, soft source suitable for close-range use. Output is modest compared to larger fixtures, but sufficient for accents, practicals, and detail lighting.
When placed close to subjects or surfaces, it provides usable, controllable light with smooth falloff. Light quality and apparent softness depend heavily on distance and placement rather than modifiers.
It is not intended to light large areas or function as a key light.
Mounting and Rigging
The MC Pro is designed for fast, flexible mounting. Common mounting methods include magnets, Velcro, tape, clamps, and small articulating arms.
Its compact size allows it to be hidden inside practical fixtures, vehicles, sets, or tight architectural spaces where traditional lights won’t fit.
Typical Use Cases
Practical lights visible in frame
Accent and background lighting
Hidden light sources
Eye lights and catch lights
Quick fixes and problem solving on set
The MC Pro is often deployed multiple times per day on fast-moving productions.
Where It Fits in the Market
The Aputure MC Pro occupies the professional pocket-light segment of the lighting market. It sits above consumer RGB lights and entry-level pocket LEDs in durability and control, while remaining far smaller and less powerful than traditional fixtures.
It is most commonly used in:
Narrative film and television
Commercial and branded content
Music videos and stylized sets
Gaffer and electric utility kits
The MC Pro is chosen when productions need fast, flexible, color-controllable light in the smallest possible form factor.
