Overview

Dedolight DLED10-D fixture

The Dedolight DLED10-D is a daylight focusing LED in the 300W class with A-size optical accessories. It suits directional keys, projection and reflected lighting when a compact DLED7 cannot provide the required exposure.

The daylight-only head uses DT10 electronics and a matching head cable. It is separate from the bi-colour DLED10-BI; do not order its controller by appearance alone. The aspheric focusing system is built into the head.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Larger daylight package than compact DLED heads.
  • LED dimming avoids a discharge lamp’s strike routine.

Limitations

  • Fixed daylight colour.
  • Separate DT10, larger optics and active cooling.

Practical uses

SetupWorking approach
Window accentSet the field to the action and meter its near and far ends.
DP400 projectionChoose lens and shutters/gobo for image size and include the front load in support planning.
Reflected keyMeter the delivered light after the final reflection.

Set the head position for the direction and shadow first, then choose focus and accessories for coverage. A sharp gobo or precisely shuttered image needs imaging optics; closing barn doors around a small spot does not create the same optical result.

Output and colour

The product title uses the 300W class while the detail table lists 308W. Use the controller input label for circuit planning. A claim that it can replace a 400W HMI does not establish equal exposure across every beam angle and modifier.

For a useful comparison, record colour setting or lamp, dimming level, optic, focus position, distance and illuminated area. Measure after diffusion or reflection when that is the working setup. Wattage, centre intensity and coverage describe different parts of the result.

Power and batteries

Order the matched head, controller, head cable and mains cable as a complete system: DT10 for DLED10-D, DT10-BI for DLED10-BI and DT30 for DLED30-D. Studio-mounted and separate-controller versions need different support and access plans.

These larger packages are normally supplied from AC through their controller. A portable power station must support the complete continuous AC load as well as the desired runtime. Use the actual input label for distribution planning and retain access to the electronics when the head is raised.

Control, cooling and camera operation

Control pathOperating notes
LocalIntensity at the matched controller; CCT adjustment on the bi-colour model.
ConsoleThe specified DT10/DT10-BI/DT30 package includes DMX. Confirm connector condition, address and available personality.
Camera/soundCheck active cooling after warm-up. Test low-level dimming and the intended high-frame-rate/shutter combination before recording.

Cooling reference for this head: Active cooling. Listen to the complete working package, including its controller or ballast, rather than checking only the head.

Modifiers, rigging and the working package

ItemCompatibility and working notes
Accessory familyA-size; confirm the exact lamphead and accessory compatibility.
ProjectionDP400-family system with the selected lens and shutter/gobo/iris module.
Beam controlCorrect DBD400-class barn doors and approved wide-angle or parallel-beam attachment.
Soft lightCorrect speedring and softbox; include front weight and clearance in the support plan.

Aspheric focusing optics are different from a conventional Fresnel. Check the actual accessory’s compatibility list, locking method and lens choice. A brand name or similar front diameter is not enough to establish fit.

Fit the intended front accessory before choosing the stand position. Check tilt clearance, balance, cable movement and independent support for any external electronics. Use the documented mounting hardware and appropriate secondary retention for the installation.

Rental and used-fixture checks

  • Verify controller and cable models against the exact head.
  • Operate the full focus travel with the intended front optic fitted.
  • Inspect cooling, mounting hardware, accessory retention and all cable contacts.

Confirm availability of service and replacement parts with the relevant supplier before buying older equipment. Check the actual kit contents against the shot: a missing controller, imager, lens or cable can matter more than a low head-only price.
