Overview

Dedolight DLED10-BI fixture

The Dedolight DLED10-BI is a larger bi-colour focusing LED using A-size optics and the DT10-BI controller. It provides adjustable white light and larger projection options than the compact DLED7 family.

The 220W class name and the table’s 245W maximum are different published power references. The head is not a DLED10-D with a menu change; specify its bi-colour electronics.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Tunable white in the larger A-size optical system.
  • Built-in focus avoids a separate Fresnel attachment.

Limitations

  • Lower-rated engine than daylight DLED10-D.
  • Colour stability is qualified at very low levels.

Practical uses

SetupWorking approach
Mixed-light interiorSet CCT for the motivation and check skin and neutrals on camera.
ProjectionUse the correct DP400 lens and shutter or gobo assembly.
Reflected keyMeasure after the intensifier and final reflector at the subject.

Set the head position for the direction and shadow first, then choose focus and accessories for coverage. A sharp gobo or precisely shuttered image needs imaging optics; closing barn doors around a small spot does not create the same optical result.

Output and colour

The product specification qualifies colour stability above 9% intensity. For fades near black, inspect colour and exposure throughout the cue. If a shot needs very low light at a stable colour, compare an optical reduction at a higher dimmer setting. Establish the needed field before judging spot intensity.

For a useful comparison, record colour setting or lamp, dimming level, optic, focus position, distance and illuminated area. Measure after diffusion or reflection when that is the working setup. Wattage, centre intensity and coverage describe different parts of the result.

Power and batteries

Order the matched head, controller, head cable and mains cable as a complete system: DT10 for DLED10-D, DT10-BI for DLED10-BI and DT30 for DLED30-D. Studio-mounted and separate-controller versions need different support and access plans.

These larger packages are normally supplied from AC through their controller. A portable power station must support the complete continuous AC load as well as the desired runtime. Use the actual input label for distribution planning and retain access to the electronics when the head is raised.

Control, cooling and camera operation

Control pathOperating notes
LocalIntensity at the matched controller; CCT adjustment on the bi-colour model.
ConsoleThe specified DT10/DT10-BI/DT30 package includes DMX. Confirm connector condition, address and available personality.
Camera/soundCheck active cooling after warm-up. Test low-level dimming and the intended high-frame-rate/shutter combination before recording.

Cooling reference for this head: Active cooling. Listen to the complete working package, including its controller or ballast, rather than checking only the head.

Modifiers, rigging and the working package

ItemCompatibility and working notes
Accessory familyA-size; confirm the exact lamphead and accessory compatibility.
ProjectionDP400-family system with the selected lens and shutter/gobo/iris module.
Beam controlCorrect DBD400-class barn doors and approved wide-angle or parallel-beam attachment.
Soft lightCorrect speedring and softbox; include front weight and clearance in the support plan.

Aspheric focusing optics are different from a conventional Fresnel. Check the actual accessory’s compatibility list, locking method and lens choice. A brand name or similar front diameter is not enough to establish fit.

Fit the intended front accessory before choosing the stand position. Check tilt clearance, balance, cable movement and independent support for any external electronics. Use the documented mounting hardware and appropriate secondary retention for the installation.

Rental and used-fixture checks

  • Verify controller and cable models against the exact head.
  • Operate the full focus travel with the intended front optic fitted.
  • Inspect cooling, mounting hardware, accessory retention and all cable contacts.

Confirm availability of service and replacement parts with the relevant supplier before buying older equipment. Check the actual kit contents against the shot: a missing controller, imager, lens or cable can matter more than a low head-only price.
