CRMX is LumenRadio’s technology for transmitting lighting-control data wirelessly. A transmitter sends the control data to compatible receivers, which may be built into fixtures or connected externally.
Wireless transport and fixture control
CRMX carries the control signal; it does not replace the fixture’s DMX personality and addressing. A receiver can be linked successfully while the light still responds incorrectly because its address, universe routing or selected mode does not match the controller.
Practical example
A controller feeds a CRMX transmitter, and several compatible fixtures receive that universe. Each fixture still needs an appropriate start address and footprint for independent control. Record the linking method and transmitter configuration alongside the patch.
Compatibility and placement
Check the exact transmitter, receiver, operating mode and firmware. Support for CRMX, CRMX variants and W-DMX is product-specific; a general “wireless DMX” label is insufficient. Antenna placement, obstructions, range and competing radio traffic affect a real set. A quoted line-of-sight range is not a guaranteed working distance through walls or a crowded location.
Equipment examples
The Creamsource Vortex8 and Aputure Nova P600c include wireless-control capabilities. Their entries identify the supported system and relevant control details.
