Overview
The Aladdin MOSAIC MINI 1×1 is a compact flexible RGBWW mat with 50 W bi-colour and 20 W RGB ratings. A separate V-mount dimmer provides the controls and battery interface, keeping the emitting head thin and light.

The square 300 × 300 mm head suits a close interview key, small product setup or concealed colour source. It is the smaller MOSAIC MINI, not a reduced-size version of the large 48 V MOSAIC power package.

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Thin head with a separate battery controller
- White and RGB operation
- Frame and softbox options
Limitations
- The dimmer, battery and support must be carried as part of the kit.
- The RGB power rating is lower than the white rating.
- The Gaffer Kit and standard kit have different modifier contents.
Practical uses
Portable key. Keep the square source close to an interview subject, then control the background with a grid or flags. Meter with the chosen diffuser installed.
Concealed accent. Place the head in a set recess using appropriate support and run the cable to an accessible controller. Keep the emitting face and controller ventilated.
Colour detail. Use RGB for a background accent or motivated practical colour. Match the colour on camera, because equal numerical settings on different fixtures need not produce equal results.
Output and colour
The table below reproduces Aladdin’s model-specific illuminance figures in lux. The product page does not state the modifier configuration alongside the table; use these figures as that published reference, rather than assigning them to a particular softbox.
A grid helps limit spill but does not focus the mat into a hard beam. The working result depends on source distance, the diffuser and its separation from the LEDs.
| Setting | 0.6 m | 1 m | 2 m | 3 m |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5600 K | 3000 | 1090 | 260 | 130 |
| 3200 K | 2950 | 1010 | 250 | 120 |
Power and batteries
Use the matching AC supply or the approved V-mount battery arrangement through the MM-DIM-LM. Check the power unit and battery labels rather than borrowing the 48 V requirement from the larger MOSAIC panels.
The 1×1 page lists ALL-1-ACAD, while the 1×2 lists ALL-2-ACAD. Check that a used kit contains the correct adapter for its panel. Battery energy and continuous discharge capability are separate checks.
Battery planning and controller compatibility
| Item | Package check |
|---|---|
| Panel / supply | MOSAIC MINI 1×1; the accessory chart identifies ALL-1-ACAD as its AC adapter. |
| MM-DIM-LM | The December 2024 manual lists MOSAIC MINI, BI-FLEX M3 and BI-FLEX M7 compatibility. Match the panel cable as well as the controller. |
| Battery operation | V-mount at the dimmer; use the approved battery voltage and continuous-output rating for the supplied package. |
| Runtime example | 98 Wh ÷ 50 W ≈ 1.96 hours using the white-light head rating alone. This is an energy calculation before controller losses and battery cut-off, not a measured runtime. |
The RGB and variable-white wattage figures describe different emitter operation. Check the actual crossfade/colour mode and battery load rather than adding those ratings into an assumed wall-socket draw. A spare battery and an accessible dimmer often matter more to a location setup than the bare panel’s small transport size.
Control, cooling and camera operation
The MM-DIM-LM provides LumenRadio and Bluetooth. Wired DMX uses the model’s DMX-Y cable to the controller’s jack connection; include it when a five-pin console connection is required.
The December 2024 controller manual lists 348 g and 140 × 100 × 50 mm, differing from the product-page dimensions and 373 g mass. Confirm the actual controller revision when planning a compact case or mount.
The product page rates the fixture IP20. Keep the dimmer, battery and connectors dry, leave airflow around the head and test the intended shutter, frame rate and low-level fades.
MM-DIM-LM setup
- Switch the dimmer off before changing the panel. Connect the correct sheet and power source, then switch on and check the detected panel type on the display.
- Use the intensity dial and CCT dial for local control. The green/magenta functions apply to RGBWW panels, not to an attached bi-colour-only M3 or M7.
- For wired DMX, include the MM-YDMX mini-jack adapter cable. In the DMX menu, choose Wired or LumenRadio, confirm the selection and allow the controller to reboot.
- Choose Simple or Expert mode, then match the console footprint and start address. Clear the stored LumenRadio link when transferring the receiver between transmitters.
DMX personalities and patching
Aladdin’s December 2025 DMX map lists the following colour personalities for MOSAIC MINI colour panels. Select the matching personality on the actual controller and in the console; the fixture name alone does not identify its channel footprint.
| Personality | Footprint | Channel functions |
|---|---|---|
| Simple CCT / crossfade / RGBW | 8 channels | 1 intensity; 2 CCT; 3 green/magenta; 4 white/colour crossfade; 5 red; 6 green; 7 blue; 8 white. |
| Expert CCT / crossfade / RGBW + effects | 11 channels | Channels 1–8 as above; 9 effect selection; 10 effect intensity; 11 effect speed. |
For these footprints, a start address of 505 is the last complete eight-channel patch in one 512-channel universe; the eleven-channel profile must start at 502 or below. Channel 3 values 120–145 are the map’s neutral green/magenta band. Keep the crossfade and effects channels in the intended state when testing a white cue.
The product page specifies 2300–12,000 K, while the general DMX map labels its CCT channel 2200–12,000 K. A console map endpoint is not a separate measurement of the panel’s white range. Check the selected head and meter the working light when matching at the warm end.
The controller manual lists passive cooling, −10 to 40°C operation and a dry-use warning. Its technical table says 1–100% dimming although the operating pages describe a 0–100% dial range. Verify the lowest usable fade and the blackout command on the supplied revision.
Modifiers, rigging and the working package
The MM-1-KITCVM includes panel, dimmer, supply, 3 m cable, ball head, frame, diffuser and soft case. The MM-1-KITG Gaffer Kit adds a softbox and softbox grid.
The 1×1 X-Bend, frame, softbox and round diffuser are distinct mounting and shaping options. Check the matching attachment and ball-head interface before assembling a kit. Keep the cable from pulling on the fabric head.
Shape and support options
| Accessory path | What changes |
|---|---|
| 1X1-XB X-Bend | A compact rear support for a light travel package; use the ball-head interface intended for that holder. |
| 1X1-FR-KIT frame | A supported flat face with its own fitted diffuser and frame grid. |
| 1X1-SBX softbox | A different diffusion depth and fitted grid; frame grids and softbox grids are separate parts. |
| 1X1-BALL / ball diffuser | A rounder emitting shape for a different reflection and spill pattern; keep its diffuser and transport bag together. |
The frame ball head and X-Bend ball head are listed separately. Check the mounting interface when buying used parts; a controller that accepts the panel does not establish mechanical compatibility with another size’s frame or softbox.
Alternatives and related fixtures
| Fixture | Choose it for |
|---|---|
| Aladdin BI-FLEX M7 | A square variable-white alternative. |
| amaran F21c | A larger rectangular colour mat with a different power and control package. |
| MOSAIC MINI 1×2 | 300 × 600 mm RGBWW mat, 100 W white / 20 W RGB. A longer reflected shape than MINI 1×1, with the model-specific supply and supports. |
| ALITE 2 | 15 W CLAID pocket light with a removable battery, green/magenta adjustment and Wi-Fi Art-Net. Its small emitting face gives different softness and coverage from a mat. |
