Overview
The Aladdin MOSAIC TUBE 4 is a 100 W RGBWW LED system built around a flexible mat and an inflatable diffuser. Its approximately 120 cm illuminated tube format packs down for transport and gives a broad, elongated soft source on set.

This is an inflatable lighting system with external power and control equipment. It does not have the self-contained battery and rigid body of a conventional LED tube. Include the air envelope, pump, mounting hardware and power package when comparing size and weight.

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Deflates and folds for transport
- Long soft source without a rigid tube housing
- Colour and tunable-white operation
Limitations
- Needs inflation and envelope checks during setup.
- The separate controller, supply and cable still need secure placement.
- Source length and white rating do not establish RGB brightness or pixel control.
Practical uses
Overhead soft strip. Use the shorter tube above a small table, interview or vehicle interior. Check end-to-end exposure and keep its support out of the shot.
Reflection control. Use the long diffuser as a highlight in glass, bodywork or a product surface. Adjust the angle before adding more diffusion, then use the skirt or grid to limit unwanted reflections.
Broad colour wash. Use the inflated surface for a coloured wall or motivated screen effect. The lamp is not a rigid scenic bar; retain the envelope and cable for the intended mounting position.
Output and colour
Aladdin provides a separate photometric graphic for each tube length. Use its labelled colour settings and distances; do not transfer a reading from the four-foot tube to the eight-foot model.
The diffuser changes the apparent source shape and spread. Check the complete inflated assembly at the intended pressure and orientation, especially when even exposure along a table or actor path matters.
| Setting | 0.6 m | 1 m | 2 m | 3 m |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3200 K | 2,480 | 943 | 323 | 166 |
| 6500 K | 2,650 | 1,000 | 344 | 177 |

Power and batteries
The published panel input is 14.8 V DC and the nominal fixture power is 100 W. The manufacturer manual leaves its current figure unspecified, so a battery should be chosen from the approved supply requirements rather than an invented amp rating.
Use the correct tube PSU, V-mount plate and cabling for the model. The mounting plate and battery plate serve different jobs. Keep the power and dimmer supported independently of the diffuser, and inspect cables wherever they pass near the envelope.
Power and total suspended package
At the manual’s nominal 14.8 V reference, 100 W corresponds to approximately 6.8 A before losses. This is a load calculation, not a published battery approval: the TUBE manual leaves the current entry unspecified. Match the actual adapter, battery plate, cable and dimmer ratings as a complete supply path.
The product page’s separate LED-panel and air-tube masses total about 2 kg before the mounting plate, cables, skirt or grid. Use the complete working assembly when planning support; the word inflatable does not describe the full rigging load.
Control, cooling and camera operation
Bluetooth and rear-panel controls belong to the lighting system. The manual identifies the optional M-WDIM for LumenRadio control and the appropriate dimmer or DMX attachment for wired DMX. The advertised kit includes control hardware, but a replacement LED panel alone does not.
Set the intended mode and test fades and blackout with the actual controller. These tubes are listed as RGBWW sources; do not assume individually addressed pixels or built-in Art-Net from the MOSAIC name.
M-WDIM and console operation
The M-WDIM manual lists white, RGB, HSI, filter and effect pages, 5-pin DMX input/output and LumenRadio. It also says Bluetooth app access is unavailable while this controller is connected to the panel. Choose rear/app control or the attached-controller route before the tube is rigged.
DMX personalities and patching
Aladdin’s December 2025 DMX map lists the following colour personalities for MOSAIC TUBE colour fixtures. Select the matching personality on the actual controller and in the console; the fixture name alone does not identify its channel footprint.
| Personality | Footprint | Channel functions |
|---|---|---|
| Simple CCT / crossfade / RGBW | 8 channels | 1 intensity; 2 CCT; 3 green/magenta; 4 white/colour crossfade; 5 red; 6 green; 7 blue; 8 white. |
| Expert CCT / crossfade / RGBW + effects | 11 channels | Channels 1–8 as above; 9 effect selection; 10 effect intensity; 11 effect speed. |
For these footprints, a start address of 505 is the last complete eight-channel patch in one 512-channel universe; the eleven-channel profile must start at 502 or below. Channel 3 values 120–145 are the map’s neutral green/magenta band. Keep the crossfade and effects channels in the intended state when testing a white cue.
Keep the selected controller mode with the rental paperwork. The older controller manual summarises two-channel white and three-channel RGB operation; the later general map lists the colour personalities above. Select the profile actually available on the supplied controller, and test signal loss and blackout.
Modifiers, rigging and the working package
The MT4-KITCVM includes the matching LED mat, inflatable tube with skirt, mounting and stand adapters, control and power extensions, dimmer, V-mount hardware, AC adapter, pump and case. The model-specific MT4-TUBE-GRID is listed separately; verify whether a particular dealer bundle includes it.
Check the envelope, valve and seams before rigging and keep the fabric clear of sharp edges and hot equipment. Inflate and deflate using the manufacturer procedure. Support the lamp from its intended hardware, not from the air valve or power cable.
Inflatable source and spill control
The 1.2 m envelope creates a long reflected source rather than a rigid self-contained tube. Position the skirt and any model-specific grid while watching the reflection and spill at the subject. The grid, mounting plate and inflatable envelope are distinct parts; the valve and power lead are not attachment points.
Inspect the envelope, seams and attachments before inflation and again at working temperature. Keep the mat’s intended bend limits and airflow requirements in mind when packing it. The manufacturer manual specifies −10 to 40°C operation and cooling before storage; protect the envelope from concentrated pressure, sharp edges and hot fixtures.
Alternatives and related fixtures
| Fixture | Choose it for |
|---|---|
| Nanlite PavoTube II 60XR | A rigid long pixel tube with a different power, control and mounting arrangement. |
| Aladdin BI-FABRIC 2 | A smaller flat variable-white mat when an inflated source is unnecessary. |
| MOSAIC TUBE 8 | Approximately 2.4 m inflatable RGBWW tube at a 200 W rating. Choose the longer source for extended reflections and coverage; allow space for its complete support package. |
| MOSAIC MINI 1×2 | 300 × 600 mm RGBWW mat, 100 W white / 20 W RGB. A longer reflected shape than MINI 1×1, with the model-specific supply and supports. |
| MOSAIC 2×4 | 550 × 1100 mm RGBWW mat rated 350 W white / 250 W RGB; a smaller large-format source than the 600 W MOSAIC heads, with its own frame and 48 V supply. |

Rental and used-fixture checks
Inflate the envelope and check for slow leaks, damaged seams, a faulty valve and missing skirt or grid. Inspect the emitting mat separately for damaged regions.
Confirm the correct length, LED mat, matching envelope, pump, mounting plate, stand adapter, battery hardware, dimmer and supply. Test the complete lamp in its working orientation before moving it overhead.
